The lion and the eagle represent the promises of the Lord that will be fulfilled.
The lion is the symbol of power and dominion and represents apostolic power and authority.
We as a people have been given power to rule over the enemy.

"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions,
 and over all the power of the enemy, 
and nothing shall by any means hurt you.“
Luke 10:19

The eagle represents freedom, as well as protection.

"But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength;
 they shall mount up with wings like eagles, 
they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.“
Isaiah 40:31
